This year, scarecrows are being created by parent/student teams that will attend workshops led by the art teachers at Normal Park. Entries will be on display in "Scarecrow Alley" at the MAiZE beginning opening day, Sept 18 through closing day, Oct 31.
Students brought recycled and reused materials from home to make their scarecrows. We are thrilled with the partnership with Normal Park and the opportunities that it has created for kids and their parents to work and play together creating something uniquely theirs...while using materials that most likely would have ended up in the trash!
The contest was adjudicated by Isaac Duncan and said that "choosing a winner was tough because there were so many great entries. The winner was chosen for its creativity and consistent use of recycled and reclaimed materials."
